HUGE Nets fan here. I love the breakdown of players here in both rounds. Sean Marks created a big mess and shouldn’t have this job. Unfortunately, he does. He better do better than good with this draft. There is already little love for us in this knix town, especially with 100% championship momentum going their way. We MUST... must draft a stud at 6 and competent players in the 2nd Round

Marks didn’t make this mess-Kyrie did

Marks turned that mess into Porter, last years 5 picks (bad luck on lottery and draft class); and he still has more draft capital than any other team in the league.

Claxton, Sharpe and Clowney - all late first rounders that Marks identified and developed.

Hell even crazy Cam Thomas was a scorer that Marks found in the late teens.

He also found and hired Jordi, which might turn out to be his biggest move.

Also a huge Nets fan but I do not get the love for Clowney at all. Wildly inefficient. Absolutely putrid on defense. Not a good rebounder for his size. He drew a bunch of fouls which is cool I guess? I wouldn’t blink if Marks cut him. He played big minutes on a horrific roster with nothing but opportunity ahead of him and he put up okay numbers and showed no demonstrable, significant improvement in even a single area of his game.

As a past Marks apologist and fan, I think his draft history is wildly overrated. The players he hit on (Allen, LeVert, and Claxton) all had better players chosen after them. All three are perfectly fine role players. I think Marks’ super powers are finding cheap replacement level players to build out a bench and working cap magic. His nose for talent has been non-existent going on five years now.

Great points, Alex. Clowney is a suitable backup Power-Forward alongside Day'Ron Sharpe. He's must rebound the ball at a higher rate (8, minimum) to justify a starting spot.

Marks better draft an All-NBA Rookie Team player at 6. He also better get this team moving on the right direction because the knix have made us absolutely irrelevant and unnecessary in NYC

Also: Always dope to meet other Net fans, especially with everyone insisting we have 0 fans!

This is the first time I’m genuinely curious if we end up getting moved to Seattle or Vegas (I obviously hope that isn’t the case but seems like a real threat for the first time in forever). I’m a little leery about Acuff’s long-term viability because he seems like he projects to be an all-time bad defender without a lot of investment on that end. That said, he strikes me as a guy who wants the challenge of being the face of a franchise and I think that makes him worth the risk in a way that someone like Ament or Mara absolutely is not.

We won't move. Despite the enormous amount of success the knix are experiencing, we do very well for ourselves. Getting back on the winning path will help immensely.

As for our pick, starting Point-Guard is our biggest weakness. Flemings was the guy I circled because he plays both sides of the basketball, but everybody I read ranks Acuff higher because of his offensive prowess. Either one is fine with me

The Nets still remain an irrelevant mess. His resume demands his termination, yet he remains in charge. The Nets should've been so much more successful and he screwed it up with poor management. No fan that walks into Barclays or advocates for this organization should tolerate this disgusting product in the light of the champion New York knix
