This both makes me somewhat excited and somewhat worried if my Wizards luck into the #1 pick.

Luckily for the Wizards I think a lot of guys in the top five of the draft fit their young core really well, but Sarr would be my preferred pick. You get the defensive anchor with your top selection and then you have another first rounder to address other issues like playmaking for others.

I feel like the Wizards need to address their (longstanding) issue with defensive rebounding and that seems like a weakness for Sarr (right now).

Thoughts on Clingan vs Sarr?

I agree you on the defensive rebounding aspect, but I think the Wizards (much like the Pistons and the Blazers) are so far away from contention that they should just forget about those type of scheme fits and simply go for BPA.

I love Clingan and I think he's going to provide impact for day one. When it comes to the traditional Center skillset, he's clearly ahead of Sarr. On the other hand, I would give Sarr the edge in terms of long-term potential because of his perimeter offense and defensive switchability.

Great point. I have to keep reminding myself that the Wizards are still only in the opening credits scene of our rebuild. There will be lots of movement between now and when we're relevant again.

Awesome breakdown, BTW. You just gained a paid subscriber!
