Great analysis on both sides of the ball. Key takeaways are his patience and pace that I appreciate from offensive side and always love mid range jump shooters. They open the floor for bigs just like 3 point shooters. Rare to get good defensive grades from a freshman. But his spatial awareness and understanding of basic defensive concepts is apparent and you’ve drawn that out in the analysis. He does use leverage well, thanks for that observation because most people don’t pay attention to position and leverage. Well done.

Very cogent (and timely) analysis, which relies both on the stats and a facile parsing of the “numbers,” and on reason. Equally well-written, and accessible to both the hoops junkie, and the amateur enthusiast, alike. As for Ivan, he is a flower yet to blossom. But I fear that I use the wrong metaphor: he is actually beast to be unleashed, and to be on display in the main ring under the Big Top. A run by the Wildcats on out of the Sweet Sixteen and the Elite Eight to the Final Four may give him both the elite experience to hone his talents, and the national exposure to bring him out of the shadows and to the publicity attentions of today’s sports P T Barnums. Fishburne has spotted an unheralded man on the rise, and argued a winning case., with the skill of Perry Mason. This Court issues a declaratory in favor of Ivan.
