Available exclusively for No Ceilings+ subscribers are my thoughts on the most intriguing prospects I saw, as well as some NBA Draft intel I heard talking with league personnel over the last few weeks.
Return of the Mack
First up on the itinerary was a trip to Lavietes Pavilion in Boston, Massachusetts, to get up close eyes on Ivy League standout guard Malik Mack from Harvard.
Listed at 6’1” and 170 pounds, Mack is a shifty lefty guard with a smooth pull-up game that has been the engine for the Crimson this year. Mack’s shot wasn’t falling from the outside, but that didn’t hamper the freshman’s aggressiveness, as he got to the line twelve times, knocking down 11-12 of his FTA en route to a solid 20-point outing. Mack’s pace impressed in person as he worked out of ball screens, using his ability to manipulate defenders with his eyes to throw smooth dimes over the top to his rollers.
