Sometimes, playing is the worst thing for a kid. Couldn’t he theoretically improve by developing a work ethic and improving upon said ball handling and basketball iq?
I think it's pretty rare for processing speed and awareness to improve while sitting on the bench. The handle and shooting can definitely be improved behind the scenes, but my bigger concerns with his game are the stuff that tends to improve with experience in a structured setting that will hold him accountable. That setting may not be in high school but I'm worried that the accountability he'll face will just be not playing at all. I really want it to work out, just very skeptical.
