Scout's Notebook: Jeremiah Fears's Breakout Battle 4 Atlantis

The young freshman Jeremiah Fears shined bright, but who else was a bright spot among 2025 NBA Draft prospects and beyond in the games against Providence and Arizona?

Scout's Notebook: Jeremiah Fears's Breakout Battle 4 Atlantis

Oklahoma had a big Thanksgiving week, beating Providence, Arizona, and Louisville on back-to-back-to-back days. I watched the Providence and Arizona games specifically in close detail, and am sharing my detailed notes that rival the game reports that NBA scouts send to their leadership when they attend games in person.

Against Providence, Oklahoma won a somewhat sloppy game by the score of 79-77, then beat Arizona 82-77. Let’s take a look at what stood out and what needs to be improved.

Providence vs Oklahoma:

Jeremiah Fears (6’3”, 182 with a last reported 6’3” wingspan)

Stat line: 20 points, four rebounds, seven assists, four steals, eight turnovers, five fouls on 4-8 shooting (zero 3PA), 12-14 from FT line, 4.5 BPM

Strengths

  • Lives at the free-throw line. Comfortable absorbing contact

  • Quick to the rim and crafty with both hands; just as comfortable going left as he is right, which is a constant from his high school film.

  • Has nice wiggle and change of direction on drives
