The Ahead of the Curve series shifts from the ACC to the Big East! As a reminder, this series is designed to identify prospects by conference who evaluators, decision-makers, and fans should be tracking as potential risers and sleepers this cycle.
To qualify, I’m focusing on those that are projected to be second round picks and undrafted free agents (UDFA) to begin the 2026-2027 season. I’ll make the pitch for each prospect, accompanied by three questions to monitor. Let’s get to it with five guard prospects out of the Big East!
Kahmare Holmes | Junior | 6’3” | 210 pounds | DePaul
2025-2026 Stats: 19.5 PPG, 5.7 RPG, 2.7 APG, 2 SPG, 0.3 BPG in 31.8 MPG (26 G)
2025-2026 Shooting Splits: 48.3/35.2/65.5
The Pitch
Kahmare Holmes should have a major runway this season at DePaul to further his ascent on draft boards. Exceptionally long (reported 6’10” wingspan) with broad shoulders, the Wofford transfer brings two-way appeal after leading the Southern Conference in steals (2.0 SPG) and placing third in scoring (19.5 PPG).
