To this point, I’ve covered 15 2027 NBA Draft Prospects I feel everyone needs to know coming into this season. In typical fashion, there are more players that I just couldn’t help but drop as names I am monitoring as sleepers who will make this season interesting to monitor for the year.
In this bonus edition of the Certified Sicko series, I’ll continue to break down each player’s special qualities, as well as the areas of improvement they’ll need to address moving forward.

Somto Cyril | Big | Junior | Miami
Somto (Somtochukwu) Cyril is a specimen of a basketball prospect. When someone looks at him for the first time, their mind can race with the type of player Cyril can become. He played for the Overtime Elite for years, dating back to when Amen and Ausar Thompson were within the program. His size and athleticism were tantalizing—even at a young age—and drew a number of college scouts and coaches to Atlanta to watch his skill and progression. After earning league accolades at OTE such as Defensive Player of the Year, Somto would be heavily recruited by a number of schools, such as Florida, Kansas, Tennessee, Indiana, and Memphis. At one point, Somto committed to Kentucky after an official visit, but he later decommitted and opted to play for the Georgia Bulldogs.
In his first season with Georgia, Cyril played in 33 games—averaging 14 MPG. Within that time on the court, he averaged 4.6 PPG, 3.8 RPG, and 1.5 BPG, while shooting just under 63% from the floor. After his Freshman year, Somto returned for his sophomore campaign. His MPG jumped to 21.2, as he started in 32 of the 33 games he played. In those games, he averaged 9.3 PPG, 5.4 RPG, and 2.2 BPG—scoring almost 76% from the floor. After going 22-11 and losing to Saint Louis in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament, Cyril entered the transfer portal, where he committed to play for Coach Jai Lucas at Miami.
