Indiana vs Rutgers Prospect Scouting Notebook
Corey Tulaba was live and in person at Indiana vs Rutgers to get up close eyes on a number of 2024 NBA Draft prospects, with notes on Kel'el Ware, Mackenzie Mgbako, Cliff Omoruyi, + more.
Piscataway, NJ – The RAC is one of my favorite arenas to attend when scouting college basketball prospects. In attendance are a bunch of drunk and rowdy New Jersians, old and young, that have the building absolutely rocking. This remained true, despite some empty seats due to a storm that swept over the North East. Regardless of the inclement weather, I foolishly decided to drive out to Jersey Mike’s Arena for a Big Ten matchup between Indiana and Rutgers to get up close eyes on a number of NBA prospects.
Kel’el Ware
Atop the list was the seven-footer from Indiana, Kel’el Ware. This was my second time seeing Ware this year but the first time seeing him up close at court level—my first impression was that he was absolutely massive in person. He looked every bit of the 7’0” he was listed at. His length and standing reach were equally as impressive. You could tell that the Rutgers guards and wings felt the same way as Ware’s presence around the rim intimidated them enough into constant picked-up dribbles to avoid getting their shot swatted into the first row.
