How much weight do y'all put on his performance at the combine, particularly in movement shooting? Personally, I want my Wizards to take him at 2, but a lot of folks seem convinced that's a reach.

I always take combine stuff with a pretty big grain of salt. It's always great to see guys kill it and when they struggle it's a bummer. However, I think it's important to remember that these guys are also specifically training for these drills for months, it's only one sample size, and any NBA player is going to shoot the crap out of the ball in an empty gym. It's never a bad thing when guys do well but I also don't take a ton from it.

I am a Wizards fan, so you have my sympathies. I agree with you, as I see the biggest potential in Castle. In addition, I love the defensive intensity. I think his shooting will get better over time, as he was never asked to be a volume shooter at UCONN.

Excellent article, and love the film snippets. Thanks for drilling down and now - how do I forward this to forward this to Will Dawkins and company in DC?

Good article. To your point about Castle’s shooting, his college shooting stats were very similar to Kawhi Leonard’s college shooting stats, and that guy turned out okay!
