Fantastic breakdown of this guard class. The point about teams maybe needing to rethink BPA versus building roster depth is super interesting, especially with how OKC and Indy showed that guard versatilty matters in playoff runs. I remember watching last year's finals and noticing how much both teams could switch up their backcourt matchups. Feels like this draft could accelarate that trend even more.

Truly appreciate the depth you’ve put into this. It makes navigating the hype of these future guards much clearer.

Great article and spot on with the breakdowns. I wish you'd have written a bit on Braden Smith and Tyler Tanner. Is it just a height thing?

Have another piece in the works and they will be involved

Yeah coz I've watched a few of their games and I've been very impressed at how they read the game, the always seem to make the right play. I do understand that height is an issue with the way the NBA is going but hey Jamal Shead isn't very tall and seems to be doing just fine! So you never know

Thank-you for the review. Your last paragraph is what concerns me as a Raptors fan. We really need a point guard who is better than Jamal Shead. From the little I have seen, I think the 7 you described probably are worth investing for us. But our pick is going to be 18-22, which limits how much we can pay.

How much will NIL pay Christian Anderson or Burries?

As an example, the Raptors are currently paying their 2024 19th pick JaKobe Walter $3.6 mm. Will the NIL pay more for those two PGs?

More just trying to say there's always a chance that some could try to return. But also said in that last that there's even more players who could climb a bit if some ahead decide to return. There's a lot of depth all over.

I love looking at the guard crop through this lens, hell yeah

Bruce Thornton is so massively underrated. I think he’ll end up a better pro than the likes of Acuff, Brown, Stirtz, Anderson, Burries, etc. A bowling ball guard who can shoot 75% at the rim, near 60% midrange, and 40% from 3 on an extremely mediocre Ohio State team is unbelievable.
