Jared McCain is proving game by game to be one of the best shooters and scorers in the NCAA. I saw him play his junior and senior high school seasons, when he looked like a man among boys. I think he's for real ( and likely will be grabbed by the NBA later this year ) Duke is now starting to look like a contender in March Madness. I get the feeling he may make a winning shot, to take his team deep into the Tournament.
Completely agree Dan! Was really impressed seeing him in person at Hoop Summit last year too. Just one of those guys who gets it. He was also one of the most consistently impressive passers among that entire group. I think there's so much more to that aspect of his game than what he's been allowed to show this year.
Hey Tyler ... Again, I think once we get past the Madness, Jared will be NBA bound. And even though Duke is apparently beginning to peak -- it could be next year's unit that has a firmer shot at taking it all. Bear with me on this one, as I look into the crystal ball ... A 2024-25 bunch that features Cooper Flagg, Tyrese Proctor & Caleb Foster on the perimeter, Reeves and two other space eaters near the rim ---- and here goes, KYLE at his natural "4" on the floor might be worth some deep consideration. Flip could use another college season on those two new Hips, much more than sitting the bench at the next level, for now. With 2-3 other top Freshmen headed in -- THAT could be some team, Huh ? ... Shades of 1991-92. After you stop laughing, give me YOUR TAKE on the above ... go DUKE ...
Haha I love the optimism. They would be incredible but I'd be floored if Filipowski doesn't go pro. I am very excited for Foster's sophomore season though. He's looked much better over this last month or so and is starting to figure some things out.
